Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-10-23
This Privacy Policy explains how Taylor A Caldwell (“FameMaker,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the FameMaker iPhone app, web app and this website (together, the “Service”). It is part of our Terms of Service. Questions: privacy@famemaker.app.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only in scrambled, one-way form), whether you sign up for yourself or a business, and your business name if any.
- Profile answers: what you tell us about yourself or your brand, such as your story, goals, audience, preferred platforms and content, look choices and website addresses.
- Photos, videos and files you upload or share from a connected album, including the people and places they show and information stored in the files (such as date, time, location or camera details).
- Messages and choices: support messages, posts you approve or reject, and requests you make.
Information collected automatically
- Usage logs: IP address, browser and device type, pages and features used, dates, times and errors, used to run, secure and fix the Service.
- Game activity: points, levels, streaks, daily goals and the times you open the app, used to run the Fame Game and to time your daily reminder.
- Notification settings: if you allow notifications, a push subscription for your device, your quiet hours and your opt-out choice.
- Agreement records: the version of our terms you accepted, the date and time, your IP address and browser.
Social account data
When you connect a social media account (such as Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Threads or X) or a photo album, you sign in on that service’s own page and choose what to allow. We never receive your social media passwords. The service gives us an access token, which we keep encrypted and use only to provide the Service. Depending on the permissions you grant, we receive your account name, ID and profile picture, and performance data the platform provides, such as follower counts, reach and impressions. We use follower counts read from the platform to show your progress and, if you opt in, on leaderboards.
If you connect a Google service, our use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. YouTube features use YouTube API Services; Google’s Privacy Policy applies to Google’s handling of your information.
Uploaded media and AI character reference images
We use the photos and videos you provide to create the posts, images and videos you ask for. Where the Service lets you create an AI character, the reference images you provide for that character are used only to generate that character’s content for your account. You must have the rights and permissions described in our Terms for every person shown. We do not use your photos or reference images to train our own AI models, and we do not use them to identify people.
AI services and data processing
To write captions and create and restyle images and videos, we send the relevant profile answers, prompts, photos, videos and reference images to outside AI services that provide writing, image and video generation for us. The app asks for your permission before any of your personal information or media is sent to these services, and without that permission, none is sent. You can withdraw permission at any time in the app’s settings; AI features that need it will then stop working for your account.
These providers process information to deliver their service to us, under their own terms and privacy policies. Current providers include OpenAI and Anthropic (writing and analysis) and dzine.ai (image and video generation); this list may change and we will update this page when it does.
How we use information
- To provide the Service: create, schedule and publish content to the accounts you connect, and show you results.
- To run your account, process subscriptions and send account, billing and service messages.
- To run the Fame Game, daily goals and reminders.
- To answer support requests and communicate with you.
- To keep the Service safe, prevent fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To improve the Service, using combined or de-identified information where practical.
- To comply with the law.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising.
Who we share information with
- AI providers, as described above, with your permission.
- Social media platforms you connect, when we publish your approved posts. Published posts are visible according to your account settings and the platform’s policies.
- Payment providers that process payments for subscriptions.
- Service providers that host the Service, store data, deliver email and push notifications.
- Agencies: if your account is managed by an agency through FameMaker, that agency can see and manage your content, connections and results.
- Advisers and authorities when the law requires it or to protect rights and safety.
- Business transfers: a successor if FameMaker is sold or merged, bound by this policy.
Analytics, cookies and tracking
The app uses one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and local storage to remember display preferences. We do not use advertising cookies or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. This website does not set cookies. If we enable privacy-focused, cookie-free website analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics), it counts page views without identifying you.
Payment information
Payments are handled by our payment providers (for purchases inside the iPhone app, Apple). Your card and bank details go directly to the payment provider; we do not receive or store them. We receive payment status information such as your plan, amounts, dates and whether a payment succeeded.
Data security
We store passwords only in scrambled one-way form, keep access tokens and keys encrypted, keep each account’s data separate, limit access to people who need it, offer two-step sign-in, and use encrypted (HTTPS) connections. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as the law requires.
Storage and retention
Information is stored and processed in the United States.
- Account and profile information: while your account is open, and up to 90 days after it closes, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.
- Photos, videos, reference images and generated content: while your account is open; deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request. Posts already published stay on your social accounts until you delete them there.
- Access tokens: until you disconnect the account or delete your FameMaker account. Disconnecting deletes the token immediately.
- Payment and billing records: as long as tax and accounting laws require, generally up to seven years.
- Agreement records: generally up to seven years, to show what was agreed.
- Usage logs: generally up to 12 months.
Backups are overwritten on a regular schedule. We may keep information longer when the law requires it or to resolve a dispute.
Your rights and choices
- Access and correct: see and update most of your information in the app.
- Copies and deletion: ask for a copy of your information or its deletion by emailing privacy@famemaker.app. We may need to verify your identity and will respond within 45 days.
- Withdraw consent: turn off AI processing, notifications or leaderboard participation in the app at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that already happened.
- Disconnect accounts: in the app, or in each platform’s settings (see how).
- State privacy rights: depending on where you live (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas or Oregon), you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete and port your information, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising or profiling. We do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising. You may appeal a decision by replying to our response. We will not discriminate against you for using your rights.
Account deletion
You can delete your account from inside the FameMaker app. See Delete your account for the steps, what is deleted and what we must keep.
Children
The Service is only for people 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email privacy@famemaker.app and we will delete it. Creating AI characters of minors is not allowed.
Changes to this policy
We will post updates on this page with a new effective date, and tell you in the app or by email when changes are significant.
